Configuring Your Pro/PDM Application Server
The Pro/PDM Application Server (PAS) is a required component
of the Pro/PDM Gateway service. In the Pro/PDM Gateway for Windchill system, the PAS acts as middleware between the Pro/PDM server and the Pro/PDM Gateway for Windchill.
The Pro/PDM Application server handles all communication between the client machines and the Pro/PDM system.
Information is written to the pas.properties file, which is located in the <installation directory>properties directory.
To configure your Pro/PDM Application server, specify values for the following parameters.
- Fully Qualified Hostname—Enter the fully qualified hostname of the designated Pro/PDM Application server (aberdeen.ptc.com).
- Port Number—Enter the communications port number that the Pro/PDM Application server uses for incoming
requests. This value must be in the range of 1024 to 65535. Record this number for future
reference. The Gateway Administration client machine must use this port number to connect
to the PAS.
- Log file—Keep the default (True) to have the pas.log
file write to the <installation directory>\logs directory.
The log file has start-up messages, access request messages, error messages, and debug messages.
If you choose False, messages are displayed in the PAS console window.
